Thinking ahead. Looking ahead. Staying one step ahead. The exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas has taken us round the world for more than 75 years. What we encounter out there could not be any more challenging: the heat of the Libyan Desert, gale force 10 in the North Sea and on the Atlantic, or Siberia’s piercing cold. It’s not a ride in the park, but we face these extremes with determination, persistence, and our technological expertise. Often as a pioneer, for example in the joint production of natural gas with Russia’s OAO Gazprom in Siberia.

Together with Gazprom, we have also been pioneers in setting up a joint venture for trading natural gas for Western Europe – our second business sector. Our two successful business sectors are united under the “Gas for Europe” concept. That means: Finding and producing gas in and around Europe and being involved in shaping the connecting infrastructure that transports the gas to customers in Europe.
