Impressions from Girls'Day 2007
more

Girls'Day 2007

Wintershall and WINGAS took part in the nationwide Girls’ Day for the 6th time. This year again more than 60 schoolgirls aged between 10 and 15 visited our headquarters to learn more about the professions in our companies.

As always the girls grasped rapidly what they had to do and mastered these challenges with a great deal of skill. Here they discovered, inter alia, that many preconceptions associated with typically male professions are actually just preconceptions. At the end of the day they could definitely imagine working, for example, as engineers, geologists or gas planner.

The following was also expressed in the questionnaire, which the girls filled out at the end of the day.

What you always wanted to say about Girls'Day:

  • "Great that something like this is provided, since girls might otherwise think: doesn’t interest me and is boring."
  • "I am impressed by the fact that there are such opportunities and that an attempt is made to bring more balance into the professions."
  • "Thank you, now I can understand why women also like working in male professions!"
